Universidad del Pacifico and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace invite you to participate in an event on China’s relationship with Latin America, within the framework of Carnegie’s "China Local/Global" initiative. A dominant narrative is that China extends its global influence by exporting its developmental model and imposing it on other countries. This project instead seeks to understand and explore China’s adaptive strategies and its working relationship with local actors and institutions, the adaptation and assimilation of traditional forms, norms, and practices, and how local communities are in turn shaping China’s interactions within their regions.

The meeting seeks to bring together experts from Latin America and beyond to exchange experiences on the diversity of China’s presence in our region.
